Hello all, I just downloaded Cod4X to fix the 'iw3mp.exe has stopped working' error that prevented me from playing multiplayer from a Steam install I made a few days back (naturally the normal solutions didn't work). Commonmpq dlya wow 335 app. I told the 1.8 patch to install to C: Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Call of Duty 4 Sure enough I now have a folder called Underground!nfinity in the COD4 folder, and a folder in there as well-- in short, a folder with the following address: C: Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Call of Duty 4 UnderGround!nfinity Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 1.8 Patch [CoD4X] The installer also made a Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare X desktop shortcut.

Clicking this leads to the loading screen and then an error saying 'Error during initialization: Couldn't load fileSysCheck.cfg. Make sure Call of Duty is run from the correct folder.' Now, I checked, and this shortcut does indeed point to the iw3mp.exe inside C: Program Files (x86) Steam steamapps common Call of Duty 4 UnderGround!nfinity Call Of Duty 4 Modern Warfare 1.8 Patch [CoD4X] I tried running it by just opening it from the folder, same problem.

Naturally, starting COD4 normally (or through Steam) works for SP and still has the original error for MP (or when I try to switch to multiplayer from the main menu of SP). I would suppose the issue is that I need to transfer some files from my primary COD4 folder to the subfolder, or perhaps the other way around, but frankly I would hope this community would be able to right my sins quickly rather than requiring a bunch of guess and check.
